Energy-Assessors.com launches 12 week training and assessment package for Domestic Energy Assessors

Energy-Assessors.com has today launched a 12 week training and assessment programme for new entrants wishing to qualify as Domestic Energy Assessors in time for the introduction of mandatory Energy Performance Certificates in June 2007.

The programme is flexible and covers all the technical knowledge and understanding required by the draft National Occupational Standards for Domestic Energy Assessors recently published by Asset Skills, through a blend of distance learning and intensive practical training. Notes for editors:

1. Every home placed onto the market in England and Wales from June1st 2007 will be required to have a compulsory Home Information Pack (HIP)
2. Energy Performance Certificates are a mandatory part of the Home Information Pack (HIP).
3. Domestic Energy Assessors and Home Inspectors are the only practitioners permitted to carry out Energy Performance Certificates.
4. The Government estimates that up to 4,500 Domestic Energy Assessors/Home Inspectors will be needed to service the requirement for HIPs
